This angle grinder is a step up from the Ryobi ONE+ R18AG-0 in that this model, the R18AG7-0, is brushless.
Brushless tools tend to be more powerful and more efficient and durable.
It comes at a cost though, as typically brushless tools are around 30% more expensive than tools with a traditional brushed motor.

The R18AG7-0 is a 125mm grinder, it has a brushless motor which provides more power. This brushless technology also means that the motor is ‘smart’ in that it only uses as much power as needed – which increases battery life. This angle grinder had an anti-kickback technology shuts the tool down when a jam is detected improving user safety – which is nice feature.
Like the cheaper R18AG-0 it has a 3 position handle for better control when grinding or cutting – using the Ryobi GripZone over-mould And there is a tool-less wheel guard and nut for easy accessory fitting
Ryobi recommend using a 5.0Ah Lithium+ battery which can make up to 80 cuts through 13mm threaded bar – though this battery adds considerable weight to the tool. Having said that the weight without the battery is just 2.2kg, and whilst Ryobi don’t list the weight of its 5.0Ah Lithium+ battery other batteries in the range claim to have weight reductions over previous versions.
